Saint Cecilia's Connect is the official alumni and community hub of Saint Cecilia's Church of England School.
Launched in 2024, Saint Cecilia's Connect provides a supportive network for our students and alumni as they transition into higher education and the world of work - the same network of support typically linked with alumni associations found in private schools.
As well as supporting our alumni, Saint Cecilia's Connect will bring invaluable contributions to the school - skills, experience, contacts, mentoring and advice - demonstrating the strength of community spirit to all our pupils and giving them a profound sense of belonging. It will also enable alumni, parents and the wider community to actively participate in shaping the school's development, thereby improving social mobility and enhancing educational outcomes.
Stronger together.
We recognise the benefits of a strong community culture. By fostering meaningful connections and collaboration, we can create a nurturing environment where our students feel supported, valued and empowered.
Research has shown that students thrive when they have access to role models, mentors and peers who encourage their growth and success - students perform better academically, are more motivated to learn, actively participate in classroom activities and are less likely to experience symptoms of depression and anxiety.
By prioritising the development of a supportive community, we can significantly contribute to the overall well-being and success of our students.
Beyond the School Gates
Our vision extends beyond the students' time at Saint Cecilia's; we care about what they do next and are ambitious for their future endeavours.
We want to support our alumni, engage with them and hear their stories too — their successes, failures and the lessons learnt. We aspire for them to remain connected to a supportive, informative, and caring community long after they graduate.
Our community isn't limited to alumni; we also seek the involvement of parents, parents of alumni, staff, former staff, and other community members who share a genuine interest in our ambitious plans and our school's well-being.
Saint Cecilia’s Connect
Saint Cecilia’s Connect will connect students, alumni, staff, former staff, and others within our community who care about our school, to enable the pooling of skills, knowledge, expertise, and contacts, fostering collaboration and support among all stakeholders.
Those who have moved on from Saint Cecilia’s will be able to find out about our latest news, developments and events. In time we hope to be able to host alumni events where people can reconnect with teachers and friends, share stories, offer advice, network, find out about job opportunities or just have fun catching up!
Development Projects
Our primary objective is to engage parents, alumni, and the broader community to support our students throughout their academic journey and beyond.
While fundraising rightly remains one of our goals - supporting our families in need and enabling us to invest in exciting projects - we emphasise that it isn't our sole focus.
An invitation for everyone
We invite everyone to participate in our Saint Cecilia’s community in various ways, whether through volunteering at Friends events or careers fairs, by sharing personal experiences during assemblies, or getting involved in our development projects.
Together, we can make a meaningful and lasting impact.
